Safety and Security
Safety and Security
Emergency Procedures:
The most important part of our safety program is making sure you know what to do in the event of an emergency. Please take a moment to look for the emergency exits on your floor. Stairs are located at both ends of every hallway on every floor, as stated on the Floor Plan/Emergency Exit Map posted by the elevators.
Fire:
When you arrive, please familiarize yourself with the location of the nearest fire exit. In the unlikely event of a fire, please move quickly and calmly to the stairs. Avoid the use of the elevators. Our hotel is equipped with an efficient sprinkler system and smoke detectors in guest rooms and hallways. We want to make sure you are prepared to exit the hotel in a safe manner. Please do not hang any type of clothes hangers from sprinkler heads.
Exiting the Hotel:
- Take your key.
- Test your door for heat or smoke before opening it.
- If the hallway is clear, exit by the nearest stairwell.
- Do not use the elevators.
Security:
We want to do all we can to help you have a safe and enjoyable stay with us. For the safety of our guests, the front doors are locked between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. During these hours, all our registered guests will be admitted by calling the front desk staff at 410-289-9165.
Please be aware you may be asked to show your ID. There are security alarms on all of our fire exits, please only use these doors in case of an emergency. This is to prevent non-guests wandering the hallways.
Keys:
Safeguard your key. Our room keys do not display room numbers. Do not leave it in your room or give it to anyone. If you lose or misplace your key, notify the Front Desk as soon as possible. Protective sleeves have been provided; since placing your key next to your cell phone or anything magnetic may de-magnetize your key. Duplicate keys will not be issued without proper identification. When you are ready to check out, please return all keys to the Front Desk. Your room key will be required in the elevator to access all floors above the second floor.
Dead Bolt and Swing Locks:
Guest room doors will lock automatically when the door is closed. For additional security, utilize the dead bolt and swing locks provided on your door upon entering.
Front Desk:
The Front Desk is staffed 24 hours a day. You may contact the Front Desk by dialing “0” on the telephone in your guest room.
Loss of Electric:
Your key will still work to enter your rooms. Please contact the front desk with any questions.
Do not use the elevators. If you are in an elevator when the electric cuts off, the elevator will go to the first floor lobby and open, then the elevator will not move until electric has been restored.
In Room Safe:
A safe is located on a shelf in the closet. To operate the safe, use a “4” digit code, to open and lock.
If the safe is closed upon your arrival, contact the Front Desk to have it opened.
